A one-of-a-kind commission built head to toe for one client: an ivory latex bodysuit dusted in crystal, hand-cut silver ice flowers, floor-length iridescent trains, matching gloves and a crown of latex leaves and crystal icicles.
Every custom at Vex starts the same way — with a conversation and a sketch. This client came to us with a single idea: an Ice Queen. Not a costume pulled from a shelf, but a complete look designed around her, built to her measurements and finished by hand in our California studio.
What came out of the studio is five pieces that work as one: a high-neck latex bodysuit, a belt with two oversized ice flowers that anchor a pair of sweeping trains, fingerless opera gloves, and a crown that throws light from every angle.
The sketch mapped every element before a single cut was made: the halter neck with a crystal diamond at the throat, the O-ring belt, an ice flower at each hip, the split trains, and a crown built to rise like frost. Set it beside the finished look and the line runs straight from paper to latex.
The foundation is an ivory latex bodysuit with a high halter neck and a full back zip, cut close to the body so the shine does the work. At the throat sits a diamond of silver glitter latex, set with graduated crystals that burst outward across the collarbone and scatter down the bodice like frost catching the light. The crystals thin as they travel down the side seams, so the piece reads as one continuous fall of ice from neck to hip.
Every petal cut by hand, every crystal placed one at a time. Nothing about this look came off a rack.
The ice flowers are the heart of the design. Each one is built from dozens of individually cut petals of silver glitter latex — a sheet we hand-pour ourselves in our California studio — layered and bonded into a full bloom, then studded with crystals and finished with a cluster of clear ice crystals at the center. Fine crystal sprays shoot out between the petals, and latex streamers fall from beneath them into the trains.
Every spike of silver on this look — the petals, the crown leaves, the diamond at the throat — comes from that hand-poured sheet, so the glitter is ours from the liquid up. Handmade in our California studio, where Vex has crafted latex for 26 years.
An ivory latex belt with a polished O-ring buckle cinches the waist and carries the two ice flowers at the hips. From each flower falls a floor-length iridescent train that shifts from white to soft lilac as it moves, opening at the front to show the leg and pooling behind into a full sweep. On a form, it reads as a gown. In motion, it is a bodysuit with a cape of light.
Fingerless ivory latex opera gloves complete the line of the arm, each cuffed at the wrist with a smaller ice flower on a latex strap — the same petals, crystals and ice-crystal center, scaled down so the look reads as a set from fingertip to train.
The crown is a sculpture of its own. An ivory latex headband is packed with clustered clear ice crystals, then built up with layered leaves of the same hand-poured silver glitter latex, each one set with crystals. Faceted crystal icicles rise between the leaves, and fine crystal chain sprays fan out above them, so the whole piece flickers every time the head turns.
