The same studio that builds Vex’s ready-to-wear takes private commissions, designed with Laura and built from scratch in your measurements and colorway. Full custom commissions typically run $3,000–$10,000, with private in-studio appointments available.
Custom work needs design time on top of the made-to-order dates, so a holiday commission is only possible if we agree on it early.
Begin a CommissionEvery made-to-order piece is cut and glued by hand, and the holidays are one of the studio’s busiest seasons. Order by October 30th for Christmas delivery, or by November 6th for New Year’s Eve. Ready to Ship pieces have no deadline. They leave the studio within 48 hours.
Yes. The store stays open and you can order any made-to-order piece at any time. What changes is the promise: after November 6th we can’t guarantee delivery by December 31st unless you contact us before you purchase to arrange rush service. Rush starts at 25% and climbs the closer it gets to the date, so ask early. Rush has to be arranged before the order is placed.
Ready to Ship pieces are finished Vex garments and accessories that already exist, made in one specific size and colorway and waiting in the studio. They leave within 48 hours of your order, so they’re the safe choice for last-minute gifts and parties. Quantities are usually one, and most are never remade. Shop Women’s and Men’s Ready to Ship.
Choose something that doesn’t need a size: gloves in standard sizes, a choker, a beret, a boxed gift set, or the care bundle for someone who already owns latex. Or give an e-gift card and let them choose their own piece, including made-to-measure.
The Vex e-gift card is delivered by email, so it works right up to the last minute. Add premium gift wrapping to any physical order.
Yes. Made-to-measure is available on most garments for a 70% fee over the base price, the middle path between standard sizing and full custom. Allow for it in your timing and order before the dates above. For a one-of-one gown designed with Laura, start a commission as early as you can.

Vinyl (PVC) is a plastic-coated fabric sewn like regular clothing. It shines, but it doesn’t stretch or mold to the body. Latex is natural rubber, cut and glued by hand, that stretches and fits like a second skin. If a “latex” dress has seams and a fabric backing, it’s vinyl.
