vexclothing.com is our only online store.
We are a handmade latex studio in Long Beach, California, founded in 2000. Every garment we sell is made by hand, by us.
We run exactly two websites: vexclothing.com, where we sell, and renttherubber.com, where we rent. That is the whole list. Any other storefront using our name, in any country, is not ours.
If you were charged by a company with a similar name, or you found a site selling our photographs, it was not us. This page explains how to tell the difference and what to do.
How to know you're dealing with us
- Our online store is vexclothing.com. Our rental site is renttherubber.com. We operate no others.
- Our only customer email is sales@vexclothing.com.
- We are Vex Clothing, Inc., Long Beach, California. Any site trading as "Vex Fashion," "Vex Clothing Los Angeles," or similar is not connected to us.
- A small number of authorised stockists carry our pieces in their own shops, and we list every one of them on our Stockists page. If a seller isn't us and isn't on that list, we haven't authorised them.
-
Some parcels ship from Illinois. Our studio is in Long Beach, and part of our production is made by a colleague of ours in Illinois; those orders ship directly from her. There is no Vex storefront or public location there, only a workroom. If your package arrives from Illinois, it is still us.
-
We never bill on a subscription. We have no membership, no recurring fee, no auto-renewal of any kind. We have never charged a customer a repeating amount, and we have no way to charge a card that wasn't entered at our own checkout.
- We don't run sitewide "70% off" sales on handmade latex. If you're looking at one, you're not looking at us.
If you've been charged by someone else
We're sorry, and we know it's unsettling. We can't refund a charge we didn't make, but here is what actually works:
-
Call your card issuer and ask them to block the merchant, not just reverse the single charge. If the billing is recurring, reversing one charge won't stop the next. The wording they need is "an unauthorized subscription I never agreed to."
-
Report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov. Complaints from the people actually charged carry far more weight than ours do.
Please don't send us card numbers — not even the last four digits. We have no access to another company's payment system, so there's nothing we could do with them.
Sites using our photographs
Our product photography and our logo are our own work, and a handful of sites have copied them to sell garments they don't have. If a site is showing our pieces at a steep discount and isn't vexclothing.com, it isn't us, and an order placed there won't reach us.
If you've seen one, we'd genuinely like to know: sales@vexclothing.com. It helps more than you'd think.
Why we wrote this
Vex Clothing has been cutting and bonding latex by hand in Long Beach since 2000. When someone else uses our name, the phone calls land here, and so does the mistrust. We'd rather say this plainly on our own website than let anyone find out the hard way.
Thank you for taking the time to check. — Laura, Vex Clothing
