Rush Orders: When You Need Your Latex Sooner

A premiere moved up. A shoot date landed this week. A stage outfit fell through. Every Vex piece is cut and built by hand, and that takes time — but when the date is not negotiable, our team can work beyond our normal hours to get it done. Here is exactly how rush orders work, and what they cost.

Our standard production time exists for a reason. Each garment is hand-cut from 0.45mm latex, glued seam by seam, cured, finished, and checked by a small team of artisans in California. That work does not get faster by cutting corners, and we will not cut them. What changes on a rush order is when the work happens: your piece moves to the front of the queue, and our team builds it in overtime — evenings and weekends, outside of our working hours — so the rest of our clients' orders stay on schedule.

The rush fee pays for that overtime. It is not a premium on the garment itself. You are getting the exact same piece, built to the exact same standard, on a compressed calendar.

Rush fees are calculated on the garment's base price, added on top of any made-to-measure fee, and cover overtime production only. Express shipping is required on every rush order and is charged separately.

What That Looks Like

Garment base price $500
2-week rush (40%) + $200
Express shipping Quoted at checkout
Total before shipping $700

The same $500 piece on a 1-week rush is $900 before shipping.

Why Express Shipping Is Required

There is no point building it in a week to ship it in two

A rush order protects a date. Standard ground shipping can take longer than the production itself, so every rush order ships express — overnight or two-day, depending on where you are. Express shipping is billed at cost, on top of the rush fee.

How to place a rush order

1

Contact us before you order

Rush capacity is limited because overtime hours are limited. Tell us the piece, your size or measurements, your color, and the date you need it in hand. We will confirm whether we can take it before you pay anything.

2

Confirm your details up front

On a compressed timeline there is no room for back-and-forth. Size, measurements, color, hardware, and any design details must be final when the order is placed. For made-to-measure, your full measurements need to be in our hands before the clock starts.

3

Pay in full to lock your slot

Your turnaround begins once the order is paid in full and every detail is confirmed. That is the moment your piece moves to the front of the production queue.

4

We build, finish, and ship express

Your garment is made, checked, and dispatched by express shipping within your rush window. You receive tracking the day it leaves our studio.

What to know before you rush

Turnaround means ready to ship

The rush window is production time. Shipping time is added on top, so plan your in-hand date accordingly — especially for international delivery, where customs can add days we cannot control.

Not every piece can be rushed

Complex custom designs, molded pieces, and certain colors depend on materials and processes that cannot be compressed. We will tell you honestly when a date is not realistic.

Changes reset the clock

Any change to size, color, or design after production begins may push your timeline or require a new rush quote. Getting details right at the start protects your date.

Rush fees are non-refundable

Once overtime production is scheduled, the rush fee is earned. Rush fees cannot be combined with promotional codes or discounts.

Need It Tomorrow

Ready to Ship skips the queue entirely

If you need something now and your size is in stock, our Ready to Ship pieces are already made and leave the studio without a rush fee. Check there first — it is the fastest way into Vex.

Rush order questions

Can I rush a made-to-measure piece?

Yes. Rush timing applies once we have your complete measurements and your order is paid in full. The rush fee is added on top of the 70% made-to-measure fee, and both are calculated on the garment's base price. A $500 piece made to measure on a 2-week rush is $500 + $350 (made-to-measure) + $200 (rush) = $1,050 before express shipping.

Can I rush a custom design?

Sometimes. Custom work involves design, patterning, and approval stages before production begins, so rush availability depends on the complexity of the piece. Contact us with your date and we will tell you what is possible.

Does a rush order cost more during busy seasons?

The rush percentages stay the same, but capacity is tighter in our peak months, especially leading into Halloween and the holidays. Contact us as early as you can.

What if the carrier is late?

We guarantee our production window. Once your piece ships, delivery timing is in the carrier's hands, which is why we only ship rush orders express and send tracking immediately.

I work in film, TV, or styling. Do you handle production deadlines?

Constantly. Production timelines are the reason this service exists. Reach out with your call date and we will build the schedule backward from it.
