When a look has to perform — under lights, in motion, take after take — latex has to be built for it. For “Can't Get Enough,” the lead single from Jennifer Lopez's This Is Me... Now, and styled by Rob & Mariel, we made a pair of custom high-waisted black latex flares: a sleek, high-shine trouser with a fitted seat and thigh and a dramatic flared leg that swings with the choreography.
Getting a flare right in latex is all in the pattern: fitted through the hip and thigh so the shine reads clean, then opened up below the knee so the leg has movement and drama. On camera, the high gloss catches every light and the flare gives the silhouette its motion.
Off the body, the flares are a study in clean latex tailoring — a high waist, a mirror-bright surface, and a flare cut to fall exactly right.
