A washing fee applies when a latex garment arrives at our California studio for repair or alteration without being washed and talced first.
Before you ship: Wash off all shine, dressing aid and lubrication, dry your latex completely, then talc it inside and out. Latex that arrives coated in shine or body oils can't be safely worked on — we have to clean and dry it before any repair can begin, and that adds time to your turnaround.
Pricing: $50 per garment. This is a starting fee, not a flat rate. Pieces requiring more than one wash, or needing special care — heavy residue, deep-set odor, stubborn lubricant, aged or delicate latex — may incur additional charges. We will always confirm any additional cost with you before proceeding.
How it works: If your piece arrives unwashed, this fee is added to your repair estimate. You can also purchase it in advance if you already know your garment won't be prepped before shipping. Adjust the quantity to match the number of unwashed pieces.
Please note: Chlorinated latex cannot be repaired, as chlorination permanently changes the structure of the latex. Ship your item trackable and insured.
