When Paris Hilton's team needed a look that matched the energy of her music video Bad Bitch Academy, they called Vex. We built a custom latex dress and matching hat — handmade in our California studio, designed to own every frame.
There is a reason stylists and production teams come to Vex when the brief is high-impact, camera-ready, and impossible to source off the rack. A music video is not a red carpet — the garment has to move on a performing body, hold its shape under constant motion, read on camera from every angle, and survive hours of takes under hot lights. That demands a level of construction that only custom handmade latex delivers.
For Bad Bitch Academy, the creative direction called for a look that was bold, sculpted, and unmistakably latex. Paris Hilton has worn Vex before, and her team knew exactly what they needed: a custom dress and a matching hat, both built to the precise specifications of the shoot.
A music video is the most demanding environment a garment will ever face. Constant movement. Extreme lighting. Hours of repetition. The construction has to be flawless — there is no second chance on set.
Off-the-rack latex is built for a single wear occasion. A music video requires something engineered — seams that flex without fatigue, a fit that holds its contour through choreography, surfaces that catch light consistently from every angle. This is why Vex builds custom pieces for production: because the construction standard is fundamentally different.
The brief came through Paris Hilton's styling team: a latex dress that delivered maximum visual impact on camera, paired with a matching hat to complete the look. The silhouette needed to be sculpted and clean — powerful without being busy. Laura worked directly with the team to finalize the design, balancing the creative vision with what latex does best: structure, sheen, and unforgiving precision.
Every panel was hand-cut from 0.45mm English latex and assembled in our California studio. The dress required precise contouring — each seam engineered to follow the body's natural lines so the silhouette reads clean on camera, whether the body is still or in full motion. The matching hat was built as a standalone sculptural piece, shaped to hold its form and catch light in a way that complemented the dress without competing with it.
This is the kind of build where millimeters matter. Latex does not forgive approximation — every edge, every transition, every surface has to be right. No shortcuts. No outsourcing. Built by hand in the same studio where Vex has been making latex for 26 years.
The finished pieces were delivered production-ready — polished, fitted, and built to survive the full shoot day. When the dress hit camera on the Bad Bitch Academy set, it did exactly what it was built to do: command attention in every frame. The hat completed the look with a silhouette that read as distinctly Vex — sculptural, deliberate, impossible to mistake for anything else.
Paris Hilton is one of many artists and public figures who have worn Vex on camera and on stage. The reason the calls keep coming is not novelty — it is reliability. When a production needs custom latex that fits the brief, fits the body, and fits the deadline, Vex delivers.
Built for the demands of a shoot day: extended wear, constant movement, extreme lighting. Every seam engineered for durability and camera performance.
Laura works one-on-one with styling teams — no middlemen, no catalog constraints. The design is built around the creative brief, not the other way around.
26 years of building custom latex for music videos, editorial shoots, red carpets, and live performance. The studio knows what production demands.
Every piece built by a small team of artisans using 0.45mm English latex. No outsourcing, no factories. One studio, one standard.
This is the first of two custom Vex looks created for Paris Hilton's Bad Bitch Academy. Stay tuned for the second dress reveal.
When the creative vision requires more than one look, we build as many as it takes. Each piece is designed and constructed independently — same studio, same standard, different silhouette. The second dress from this collaboration will be featured in an upcoming post.
