A costume-shop bodysuit survives one night. A handmade latex piece survives twenty years of them.
Shop Halloween Commission CustomEvery October the party photos come out, and the difference between real latex and everything else — polyester, vinyl, PVC “wet look” — is visible from across the room. Vinyl imitates the shine; only latex moves like a second skin. Cut and glued by hand, it fits like it was made for you, because it can be. Vex has been making latex in California for 26 years, from 0.45mm latex sourced from England — the same construction we build for tours, TV and film, and the red carpet.
Ready-to-shop collections built around the looks people actually search for — each pairs the core piece with the gloves, stockings, and accessories that finish it.
Twenty-six years of cosplay and costume work — Comic-Con floors, film sets, and Halloween parties. A few from the cosplay archive:
The pieces in our Halloween collections aren’t costumes that happen to be latex. They’re wardrobe-grade latex garments styled into costume looks. Wear the witch dress on October 31st; wear the dress itself all year. Properly cared for, a Vex piece has a 20+ year wear life — which makes it the last “costume” you’ll buy twice.
Order by September 4th: every Vex piece is made to order by hand, and Halloween is our busiest season. Allow up to 6 weeks for your piece to ship. September 4th is the deadline for standard orders. After that, rush delivery is possible only by request — contact us before purchasing to arrange a rush order.

One strong piece does the work: a catsuit for full transformation, a dress for the party, a corset to structure either. The Simple Catsuit ($713) is the foundation half our costume looks are built on.

Kitty cat ears ($147), a hood with cat eyes ($216), or gloves from cropped ($121) to opera length turn a great outfit into a character.

Latex arrives matte and comes alive polished. Read the guide to wearing latex before the night, and the care guide after it — that’s how a costume becomes a 20-year piece.
Entry pieces — gloves, hoods, accessories, and select garments in the under-$200 edit.

Full custom commissions — designed with Laura, built from scratch, yours alone.
Made-to-measure is available on most garments for a 70% fee over base price — the middle path between off-the-rack and full custom.
Deadline: standard orders close September 4th for guaranteed Halloween delivery. Rush orders after that must be requested before purchase.

The same Long Beach studio that builds Vex’s ready-to-wear takes private commissions — the bespoke, cosplay, and inflatable work you’ve seen on tours, in music videos, and on TV and film sets. If your Halloween concept is a character no collection covers, we design it with you and build it by hand, with private in-studio appointments available.
The honest deadline: custom work is designed, patterned, and built by hand — and October is our busiest season. September 4th is the store-wide deadline for standard orders, and commissions need design time on top of that. Start the conversation now, not in October.
If you plan to wear it once and throw it away, no. If you want a piece that photographs like nothing else in the room and can be worn for decades with proper care, yes — and it usually replaces years of disposable costumes at a lower total cost.
They get confused constantly, but they’re not the same material. Vinyl (PVC) is a plastic-coated fabric that’s sewn like regular clothing — it shines, but it doesn’t stretch or mold to the body. Latex is natural rubber, cut and glued by hand, that stretches and fits like a second skin. If a “latex” costume has seams and a fabric backing, it’s vinyl.
Like a second skin — snug everywhere, painful nowhere. Standard sizing works for most bodies; made-to-measure exists for everyone else. Sizing charts are on every product page.

Yes — Halloween is how many people start. Read the dressing guide first; the difference between a frustrating first wear and an easy one is dressing aid and five minutes of patience.
